When I try to make backup of some host, I return the following
message from error: "Ping no response", somebody can I help me to
fix this problem?

Have you checked the obvious?
Can you ping the client host from the BackupPC server?
Using the host name specified in the BackupCP "hosts" config file?

Is it a Windows (Samba) host name? If so, does it have a static IP
address?

Have fun,

Yes Thomas, I can ping the client host from BackupPC server and host was specified in /etc/hosts, the client runs Linux. In home page of host, appears the following message error:
" Last error is "no ping response."
" Pings to mar have failed 1 consecutive times.". Where 'mar' is host client. You or somebody of list have more some suggestion? Thanks for all.

Post Re: Ping no response
One thing to check is the resolv.conf file
Ran into this after a recent upgrade of my backup server. The software
is pinging out to "gryphon" but gryphon is unknown without the rest of
the domain name. I added a search line (search domain.com) in the
resolv.conf file for the domain and that fixed it right up. It could
then find gryphon.domain.com
