Rsync on Linux problem

Post Rsync on Linux problem
I'm having a problem with Rsync Daemon on my linux server. We just switched over to backupPC it is a great software!!! Documentation is very well written answered 99% of my questions about it.

Now to the problem, I load the rsync daemon on my one server I always get Auth Fauled on module test... I have another server we were using as a backup just rsyncing data over tested it out their and copied the rsyncd.conf and rsyncd.secrets on over and get the same problem. Yet it works on the other server.

The one it works on is running Rsync 2.5.5 and one it is not working on is Rsync 2.5.7, if I leave it wide open no password etc.. it works but as soon as I assign auth users I get the auth failed error. Anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot this?

..Kevin

Try to make rsyncd.secrets and rsyncd.conf no world readable only for
the owner.

Sam.
