Using split with archives

Post Using split with archives
I noticed that BackupPC_archiveHost, if the split option is enabled,
makes foo.1.tar.gz.aa .ab etc. For my needs, it would be much better
(and less confusing) if this was changed to foo..tar.gz.000 .001 etc.,
using the -d and -a options to split.

I think it would be best to add a configurable option such as
$Conf{SplitOptions} so one could configure it on a per-host basis.
This would also make it possible to add a -a commandline option
(number of digits in the # field, eg -a3 would make .aaa or .000)

Is this a feasible feature to add for the next release?
