Hello,
I've successfully upgraded to 2.10. I experienced one minor problem with the creation of bin/BackupPC - I ended up copying it from the source tree and editing the "use lib" directive and perl path. I kept getting errors that it couldn't be written during execution of config.pl. I am not sure but am quite happy to be using the new interface. BackupPC is running on Fedore Core 1 in this instance.
When restoring via zip from/to WinXP (BackupPC running on linux Fedora Core 1) I can not use the Zip Restore function. I am gettting a file with appparently appropriate size and content but none of the Windows Zip tools (MS Extract ALL, 7-Zip, etc.) can handle it. Copying the zip file back to the same Fedora Core 1 system that created it, I see these results:
# file restore.zip
restore.zip: Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to extract
# gzip -cd restore.zip
Contents of the text file in the zip are printed to standard out, then followed by these two errors:
gzip: restore.zip: invalid compressed data--crc error
gzip: restore.zip: invalid compressed data--length error
The single text file in the zip archive seems complete. I also had problems with this in my previous attempts with BackupPC 2.0X. It would be nice to figure out - although I haven't seen reports of this issue by others.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Andy
