Bacula 2.1.18 BETA released to Source Forge
Hello Kern and List,
I just downloaded and installed 2.1.18 on a windows xp box. The backup
went fine, i backed up a single directory, then on the client i renamed it i
guess simulating i lost it. So, i went to restore. I got the toplevel
directory back, and one subdirectory, it had three, and 9 files, there were
337 total. The files that were backed up/restored were fine, i get an error
and then it stops, it seems to hit the error and not verify signature or
restore anything else. I get the email stating the bacula restore failed, if
i go back to the server go bconsole and try a status of the xp client 2.1.18
i notice it hangs, it won't return a status. The icon in the systray
indicates the client is still running however.
If i can provide any additional information, deugging, let me know.
Thanks.
Dave.

Subject: [Bacula-users] Bacula 2.1.18 BETA released to Source Forge
Hello,
Second try for the day ...
I have released the Bacula source code and Win32 binaries for Bacula BETA
2.1.18 to Source Forge (version 2.1.14 was put in the SVN but not released
and
version 2.1.16 had a stupid bug

).
This is a bug fix to version 2.1.12.
Changes since Beta release 2.1.12
- Version 2.1.14 not released (2.1.16 pulled)
- Possible solution to Win32 encryption restore signature errors.
- Reload with syntax errors in < at > include now works.
- Gnome console builds with encryption.
- Fixed bugs #864, 872, 874, 882, 882, 877, 886, 885.
- License is now GPL v2 without modifications, fix a few copyright
mistakes made when adding FSFE copyright notice.
- Fix update all from pool to pass pool name.
- Correct reservation system bug that invalidated Volumes by
calling find_next_appendable volume before acquiring a device.
For more details, please see the ChangeLog.
If you want the doc files, please pull them from:

http://www.sibbald.com/download/bacula-docs-2.1.18.tar.bz2.sig (189B)
The bug list is now getting quite short, so it is looking good for a 2.2.0
release within the next 2 weeks to a month. Now is the time to test, to
help
avoid any surprises after the official release. Thanks.
Best regards,
Kern
