Post different clients different volumes - please advise
Good Day - after finally getting everything the way I like it , my test backups decide to go wonky. looking at my configs below (not actual code for the sake of not making the post to big) , can it now work this way? I want each client to have its own fileset and its own archive device to do the backup to. What is happening now, it will do say Client1 ok, (i label File1 first) but then it asks for me to name another label. , so I choose File2 and label it something different so each uses its own volume.. but when it comes down to client2's job, it wants to use another volume on the same storage device as client 1.

To have different volumes/storage devices / filesets, does there need to be more then one pool? Thanks Smile

Client1 :

Using default pool
Storage = File
File Set = "Client1 File Set"

Client2
Default Pool
Storage = File2
File Set = "Client 2 file Set"

Storage (File):
Device = FileStorage (/media/data/backups) (set in bacula-sd)

Storage (File2)
Device = Filestorage2 (/home/user/Dropbox/backups) (set in bacula-sd)

Different pools and/or different Media Types.

Worked like a charm - thank you Smile

Now, can different jobs (clients) using different pools write to the same device?

Client1 would use pool1 and write to defined device /mnt/data/backups/client1

client2 would use pool2 and write to defined device /mnt/data/backups/client2

Thanks again.. btw I keep reading the manual, but some stuff is not clear.
