This has baffled me. The previous night's report at my remote
site has stated that a backup was successful without errors! Any ideas
why backup has worked on Thursday night when all week (Monday to
Wednesday) the tape drive had input/output errors?
I wonder if there might have been some small debris on the tape drive
heads and it finally got dislodged and is no longer causing errors. I
have seen errors go away after cleaning the drive, so I am just
speculating here.
