Post one-time nackup for archival
Hello!

I've several tapes with multimedia stuff (videos and scanned slides)
done with Amanda which are meant to be stored as archival material and
only some stuff should be restored from them in order to do some work
with videos or slides.

Considering that I use Bacula for the backup of my desktop (using
LTO-2 tapes/drive), I wonder what would be appropriate job description
to re-do those tapes in Bacula and keep catalog records (for easy
retrieval which is one of Bacula's advantage considering that Amanda's
restore is slow not having catalog file.) as long as needed?

Sincerely,
Gour

I have 40TB of archival data here. Put the volumes in a pool that does
not recycle.

Does it mean that having:

Recycle = No

as pool directive is all what we need?

It sounds (much) simpler than we thought...in the past I used to have
those material under Bacula, but, obviously, did not have properly
configured it, so I lost my catalog file and when I needed to restore
something I had to do use bscan. :-/

Gour
