Suddenly, our tests with autochanger hangs with
message

"Please mount Volume "001004L4" or label a new one for"

Slots seems to be ok and properly labeled:

This started to happen after a purge of our volumes.

Tapes are labeled properly:

Media record for Slot 1 Volume "001001L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 2 Volume "001002L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 3 Volume "001003L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 4 Volume "001004L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 5 Volume "001005L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 6 Volume "001006L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 7 Volume "001007L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 8 Volume "001008L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 9 Volume "001009L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 10 Volume "001010L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 11 Volume "001011L4" already exists.
Media record for Slot 12 Volume "001012L4" already exists.





Any hint?

I had to delete the volume and relabel again to get it working.
Is this normal? To recycle a volume I have to delete it ?

I had to delete the volume and relabel again to get it working.
Is this normal? To recycle a volume I have to delete it ?

No this is absolutely not normal. Although I am not sure what caused
that. Do you have the recycle flag set on your volumes?

Yes, recycle flag is set but in this case I've manually purged
a volume.

The only way to restore the situation was to delete volume from
catalog and then relabel.
