No, actually. You've been saying "can someone provide me with a
configuration file that will work with my hardware?", which is a service
for which people get paid.

so I
can chek if it's OS related or Hardware related problem ! or just I've
messed up with a parameter ! that's strictly all !

It's neither OS related or Hardware related. Your configuration file is
poorly constructed, and does not do what you want it to do. You either
need to spend more time with the documentation or consider hiring a
Bacula consultant.

Post Re : Bacula Config For Autochanger
I'm sorry, I thought this was an open source development model where
people contribute what they can. If you have nothing to contribute,
then don't. If I have a configuration that works, I am going to let
people know about it, rather then hide my special bottle of juju.

Post Re : Bacula Config For Autochanger
Hello Nawfel,

Please ignore the malcontents. It really surprises me sometimes that
some people can take the time and effort to flame someone unjustly, but
the do not have the time or effort to be helpful. It seems that some
people just like to don their Miss Superior habit, and try to make
everyone just as miserable as themselves.

Please understand that the configuration that you are trying to use
while probably possible, is not entirely without its issues. Running
the director on Windows 2003 is not really supported, as I understand
it. Running the director on XP is definitely new territory.

On a side note, at least from my perspective, you need to take the time
to compose you message so that your responses do no contain emotion.
Responding in ALL CAPS, and wording you messages as urgent, while they
may be urgent to you, they may not be urgent in the grand scheme.
Aggressive writing leads to aggressive responses and flaming, as you
have experienced.

Email me directly, and I will try and help you, just be warned that I am
new to bacula also, but I do have a working windows configuration.

I read the documentation :

http://mtx.opensource-sw.net/compatibility.php

http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Autochanger_Support.html#AutochangersChapter

http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Getting_Started_with_Bacula.html#SECTION00935000000000000000

http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Getting_Started_with_Bacula.html#SECTION00934000000000000000

http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Supported_Operating_Systems.html#SupportedOSes

and everywhere else (by my dear google) I find this paragraph :

* Windows (Win98/Me, WinNT/2K/XP) Client (File daemon) binaries.

too much prejudice is not good for relationships !

That is not how mailing lists work. A mailing list is for people who are
willing to read the documentation, and then either ask a question to
clarify it or for some help with something they've tried and does not
work properly. It is NOT "I bought hardware X, please provide me with a
storage definition." That is called a support contract and costs good
money.
