Alert for Odometer value on tape drive

Post Alert for Odometer value on tape drive
I'm looking to setup an email alert that will tell me when one of my tape drives is nearing the Odometer threshold for "number of hours used after last clean".

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,
-Jon

Hi Jon,

You can create a custom alert in the Control Panel>Alerts tool but this will only notify you once the drive has reached the set threshold in the Control Panel> Hardware Maintenance tool.

I think the only way you could check for the counter status before the threshold is reached would be by querying the main DB directly, but that is undocumented. I suggest you contact support about this. You can also ask for a Modification Request (MR) from support or your local SE if you believe this should be added as an improvement to a future revision of Simpana.

Regards,

Phil
