dedupe maglib space question....
Author Message
Post dedupe maglib space question....
IHAC with a 3.8TB Block-level dedupe maglib. There is very little space left on the maglib, however when I do a "View Contents" I see "Size of Valid Data" being 2.49TB.

I should, then in theory, have about 1.4 TB spare on the disk, but I only have about 2Gb. Customer recently reorganised some exchange storage groups and this caused the unique blocks to jump about 400Gb overnight, pushing the maglib over the edge somewhat.

Retention on the main policy storing data in this maglib is 30d/4c - "Do Not deduplicate against objects older then...." is set to 90 days.
There are also a couple of of other policy copies using this maglib as a spool area.

Any idea what might be going on here?

cheers,

mark.

Post dedupe maglib space question....
Do you have a corrupt dedupe database waiting to be aged out? If you right on the storage policy copy and select view jobs then sort by retain until see if there are old jobs hanging around. If you open a support ticket they will walk through the steps within an hour to age out the corrupt dedupe DB.
