Backup Central

I currently have Exchange 2007 and am using the commvault exchange archive option. We will be migrating to Exchange 2010 shortly and will possibly be using the Exchange Personal archive option.. If we do this can commvault see the users online personal archive? Can I archive the users online personal archive?

Haven't tried it myself but couldn't see why not ... AFAIR Exch2010's Personal Archive feature uses another mailbox labelled a "Archive Mailbox" (as opposed to the user's Primary Mailbox) which is where it moves messages into, and therefore it should still be visible to the Exchange Archiver agent provided the agent's service account has sufficient access to the Archive mailbox.

However as it sounds your answer is time-critical, would recommend having a quick chat with your CommVault rep or Support to see if they can get you an official answer as opposed to me checking in a lab

Archiving from online archive is not supported as of now. This will be part of our upcoming release. Just curious on your use cases with online archive though. Can you tell us on how your archiving strategy will be once you introduce exchange online archive with commvault archiving option?
