After upgrading to Simpana 9 we sometimes get complaints about (subclient)
filters.
Simpana 9 somehow seems to bypass earlier configured filters (simpana in
certain situations.

When a full excludepath is given it seems to work well. When using wildcards
(which were working well in Simpana they seem to cause trouble in Simpana
9.
Does any of you have seen this behaviour yet ?

Along with this it would be really nice if Commvault offered a regex tester for making sure your patterns and wild cards are honored.


Does anyone know if something like a Perl regex tester would work?

Here are some details:


Filter setting
Result
D:TEMPFILTERTEST*.ora | *.dmp | *.mid
Filterbestanden were backupped ‘normally’
D:TEMPFILTERTEST**.*
All is backupped, no exclusions at all
D:TEMPFILTERTESTmedia
Exclude succesfull, working exclusion
D:TEMPFILTERTESTmedia*.wav
Exclude succesfull, 'wav' files are ignored
