Hello

Is there a filter that will prevent a backup from getting these errors?

• [C:WindowsSystem32configRegBackDEFAULT] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
• [C:WindowsSystem32configRegBackSECURITY] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
• [C:WindowsSystem32configRegBackSOFTWARE] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
• [C:WindowsSystem32configRegBackSYSTEM] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
• [C:WindowsSystem32configRegBackSAM] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
• [C:WindowsSystem32configRegBackCOMPONENTS] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Try using VSS for the system state backups.

Hi Bill - thanks for the reply.

I am already using VSS for system states. These errors are occurring on my "default backup set" backups. I'm trying to make backups run quicker by not having open file errors on my backups.
