Filtered drive is included in Windows FS backup

Post Filtered drive is included in Windows FS backup
We have a Windows 2003x64 system with a very large drive (MSmile which we wish to exclude from our backups. I've added the drive to the subclient Filters (via Browse). It does appear in the Filter list as "M:"

Yet when we attempt a backup, it appears to include files from this drive. Both the size of the backup and the number of files FAR exceeded the capacity of the system, unless the M: drive is being included. Unfortunately we had to abort the job due to the unexpected size.

The Scan log seems to confirm that the drive is excluded:

Post Filtered drive is included in Windows FS backup
George,

Are you using any mounted filesystems in Windows, where links from the C or D drive for example actually point to files on your M drive? If so, you can probably resolve this by changing a job option in your job schedule. I believe the option to "follow mount points" is turned on by default. In the job schedule, under job options, there is an "Advanced" button. Select this and you should see the option to "Follow Mount Points". Uncheck this box and see if that fixes the problem.

Post Filtered drive is included in Windows FS backup
That was the first thing that came to mind. The client system owner
insists that there are no mount points involved, and I have no access to
his machine. But I may try this if we run another backup before he
removes the extra drive.

We have a Windows 2003x64 system with a very large drive (MSmile which we
wish to exclude from our backups. I've added the drive to the subclient
Filters (via Browse). It does appear in the Filter list as "M:"

Yet when we attempt a backup, it appears to include files from this
drive. Both the size of the backup and the number of files FAR exceeded
the capacity of the system, unless the M: drive is being included.
Unfortunately we had to abort the job due to the unexpected size.

The Scan log seems to confirm that the drive is excluded:

But when the backup runs, we see I/O activity on the drive. And the
