We have 2 identical shared tape libraries (Dell ML600 aka Scalar i500)
with FC-attached LTO drives. Tlib1 currently has 6 drives. Tlib2 has 2
drives. We would like to move 2 of our existing drives from Tlib1 to
Tlib2 so that each has 4 tape drives.

What is the best way to do this in Commvault? It seems that we could
delete 2 tape drives from Tlib1's Commvault configuration, then do
exhaustive scans for both Tape Libraries once they are inserted in
Tlib2, but I'm guessing that we would lose the error history of the
deleted tape drives.

Is there a way to move a drive from 1 Tlib to the other without deleting
it in Commvault?

From the ML RMU
Run a snapshot in the ML6000 you are moving from
Import the drive history in the second ML6000 or at least the RAS history.

The error count should stay with the drive anyway since it is kept in the drives firmware.

One caution. Your fibre switch WW name will probably need to change so CV does not get confused
and try to run the drive on the wrong controller/media agent.
