Poor Aux Copy performance

Post Poor Aux Copy performance
Running CommVault 9.0 SP3
Doing dedup to primary stg which is DELL NX3100 with 2TB 7200RPM SAS drives.
Have an IBM 3100 with 6 LTO4 drives fiber connect via 4GB switch to the Dell NAS.

When doing Aux Copy to tape, getting about 7MB to 25MB per a sec per a drive, now I understand according to CommVault there is suppose to be a 10 to 15% performance hit when using dedup, but doing backups of that same data on same hardware at a non dedup format and then doing aux copy to tape I get 69MB to 80MB per a sec. The difference is a lot more than a 10 to 15% performance hit, anyone else having this issue?

it is on it's way up, tech just got done doing the same tests Dell and I did and found that without dedup in picture was doing 69MB to 80MB a sec to the LTO4 tape drives.

Out of curiosity... how fragmented are those maglib volumes?

Also with your aux copy from dedupe disk to tape, have you tried setting Combine to streams to match the number of tape drives you want to use and then enabling multiplexing factor of 2 or 4?

Post Poor Aux Copy performance
they show to be 100% fragmented, ran defrag on them, but never finishes, defrag engine loose communication. I have opened ticket Microsoft on the defrag issue.

I also ran defrag on our small data centers 10-13TB disk libraries, same NX3100 NAS with 7200RPM drives, they got the same lost communication with Defrag engine after running for days, 1 still defrag successfully to where it was only 4% fragmented, but no change in speed from disk to tape.
