I have been dealing with a similar issue. My understanding is that chunks are sometimes data corruption that may be due to hardware issues. In my case it looks to be the way I formatted my storage. Recommend contacting support and they will be able to figure out what job is having the issue. I spent the weekend upgrading firmware and will be reformatting a Lun. Thanks

We are new to CommVault and I am just looking for some assistance on a couple errors. What do the errors actually mean below

1. Error occurred while processing chunk [11217] in media [V_834] for storage policy [Backup] copy [Tape 7 Years]: Backup job [ 893 ]. Data read from media appears to be corrupted.. (IS THIS SAYING THE NEW TAPE MEDIA IS BAD?)

2. Error Code: [14:108]
Description: CreateIndex unable to read valid information from iDataAgent (iDATAAGENT SERVICE NOT ACTIVE?)

3. Error Code: [14:200]
Description: UpdateIndex failed on MediaAgent [smcmcs] - Index files are missing. Job could have earlier run on a different MediaAgent possibly due to a failover. (WE GET MANY OF THESE ERRORS DURING THE BACKUP, THEY EVENTUALLY GO AWAY BUT IT SLOWS DOWN THE BAKCUP)

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
