"FSDM load library" should be how long it took to invoke some portion of the File Archiver code. That's my best guess .. once upon a time it used to be called DataMigrator for File System (DMFS, or FSDM in some log references). Is this v8 or v9?
As for what the other bits in the mean, see bottom of my email for some sample ones from file system agent/clbackup. I don't have a complete list of counters though
Looking at v9 logs it looks like the format has changed but they're still quite handy for plotting performance problems... so my example is from v7/v8 I'm guessing.
Also, not all agents have these counters on by default - aux copy is definitely one where turning it on may cause a slight performance degradation but the registry key was noted on the forums last month:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECommVault SystemsGalaxy ControlSet001MediaAgent
nAuxCopyCountersLogInterval Data is time in seconds. 0 is the default. For optimization efforts, we recommend temporarily setting the value to 900.
And here's the explanation from the yahoo group some time ago - note all of the below are more specific to File System agent (or
clBackup.log):
Below is parts of logging snippet. 1) ID=File Open time, Bytes Read = 0, Total time = 0.011359, Average =
0.011359, Samples = 1 2) ID=Disk Read time, Bytes Read = 20, Total time = 0.013465, Average
= 0.001417, Samples = 1 3) ID=Pipeline Allocation time, Bytes Read = 0, Total time = 0.000010,
Average = 0.000010, Samples = 1 4) ID=Pipeline Write time, Bytes Read = 1160, Total time = 0.000004,
Average = 282.587336, Samples = 1 ID = File open time and Disk Read time (Disk Group) indicate the time
taken for opening the file and reading the file from disk. ID = Pipeline Allocation time and Pipeline Write time (Network and
media group)indicate the time taken for writing the data to the media
+ time taken to do the transfer over the network. The highest "Total time" indicates that the majority of the time is
spent in that operation. Generally this falls in the disk id group or
the network and media group. If the time taken is high for disk id group, the disk is the bottle
neck this can also be verified with our tools like disk read. If
multiple reads on the disk is enabled try disabling it as not all
hardware supports multiple reads and enabling multiple reads degrades
the performance without hardware support. On the other hand if you
have Raid disks or disks that allow multiple simultaneous reads,
allowing multiple reads can improve the backup performance. If the time taken is high for network and media group. Slowness could
be because of either the network or the media. For troubleshooting
this slowness tools like testport, DiskRead and tapetest could be
useful. If there is a network between the client and MA check if the network
is slow, testport would help you identify it. For testing if the Media write is causing the slowness use tapetest if
Media is tape or use DiskRead tool in write mode if the media is
magnetic.

Luke

I'm looking at some CLBACKUP logs and see items such as this interspersed:
2364 b60 11/02 02:40:56 1288369 ID=FSDM load library, Bytes Read = 0,
Total time = 0.144154, Average = 0.000000, Samples = 516885
I don't know what FSDM is. Can anyone explain what these entries mean ?
