Removing a mount point from a Disk Library

Post Removing a mount point from a Disk Library
Hi guys,

I need to retire a mount path I have setup on a disk library on a
Windows MA running 8.0SP5. I've disabled it for writing like the docs
say:

http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/release_9_0_0/books_online_1/english_us/features/magnetic_library/magnetic_library_how_to.htm#move_succeeding_mntpath

Which looks to apply to my situation even though the docs are for
version 9.

Now, is there any way to move the data off this mount point (some sort
of aux-copy?) for non-aged data so I can retire it more quickly?

None of the docs on Aux-copy seem to talk about this idea.

Thanks,
John

Post Removing a mount point from a Disk Library
Hi,

The following procedure describes the steps involved in moving a mount path associated with a magnetic library.
To move a mount path:
  1. Copy the CV_MAGNETIC folder (including its contents) from the current mount path location, to the new mount path location.
  2. From the CommCell Console, display the Galaxy Library and Drive Configuration window.
  3. Locate the magnetic library for which you wish to move the mount path.
  4. Right-click the mount path that you wish to move and then select Properties.
  5. From the Mount Path Properties dialog box, enter the new path.
  6. If you select Local Path, click Browse to select a mount path, or enter a mount path.
    • If you select Network Path, type the user name and password to access the network share. Click Browse to select a mount path, or enter a mount path.
  7. Click OK to save the information.
The mount path is moved to the specified location. Verify that the mount path is online and accessible after the move

Thank you for your followup, but I've already seen this. The problem
is that I want to just merge two data paths, and that's not a covered
situation in the docs.

All this makes perfect sense, but it's not quite what I need.

Basically, I have a disk library with three mount points (all local)
and I want to empty out one mount point so I can remove it. I've
already turned off writing to this mount path, but I'd like to NOT
have to wait for the data on there to expire, but instead to just move
it to one of the other two paths I have setup.
