Post restore via ndmp with commvault
"Today we backup all file systems via NDMP from the physical filer. All restorable data is tied to that physical filer…when we failover and want to back up the filer in the far site the name is going to be different…as such so would all of the storage polices and restorable data. We don’t want restores to only work near or far, but would prefer to be able to back up here and restore there (or vise versa) with no major changes."

Given this scenario, can commvault ndmp do this?

So when you failover the name is going to change, which means you would have to manually update CommVault to reflect the changes on your filer (this would be the same also for BE or NBU..)

Before I say anything more .. what filer do you have and what version is the OS on that filer?

Also is this a Prod .vs. DR scenario?
