Services not starting after Windows Updates reboot
Author Message
Post Services not starting after Windows Updates reboot
We have several windows servers that for the last few months have had their CommVault Services fail to startup automatically after windows updates reboot. These are varying OS's, i.e. Win2k3, Win2k8, Win2k8R2.
Anyone else seen this problem?

We are running V8 SP5 with all the latest updates applied.

Thanks,
-Jon

Post Services not starting after Windows Updates reboot
We ran into similar issues in the past and the fix is to increase the time-out value for service startup process. This way commvault services will have more time to load when the computer starts

Here is the KB article from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884495

Hope this helps!

Ganesh

If a Windows service fails to start, there should be some related entries in the
event log. Are there any clues there?

Also check the recovery tab of the commvault service (via services.msc) to see
what the recovery options are set to for that service.

Cheers

Mark
