Upgrade to 9 issue

Post Upgrade to 9 issue 
I just upgraded to version 9.0 from 8.0. I did have an error during the middle of the upgrade process and it failed while upgrading the database. I restarted the upgrade installation again and it actually continued successfully. Going through the CV Post upgrade steps I enabled my jobs. Next I attempted to download software from the add/remove software task menu. When I try and run it, it only says “Failed to run task”. I am assuming this is a pretty important step. Has anyone seen this before?

Actually it now seems I cannot run any task.. All services are started..

Have you checked if activity is disabled on CS properties screen?

Post cv upgrade 
download and run service pack 3 installer on the commserve...have seen this after upgrading to 9 and no service packs installed, activity for any operation fails with unable to run task...installing any service pack, preferably latest will resolve..

Sounds like failed database upgrade.
Get your DR from your previous version, and try a test upgrade from commvault maintenance advantage under the upgrade assistance page.
In the mean time it sounds like your backups have not worked at all in which case I'd roll back for now and also lodge a call with support.
