V9 Deduplication

Post V9 Deduplication
So here's another question for anyone who is using client-side dedupe in v9.

My remote offices were all upgraded from Novell netware to VMware ESX running a windows 2k8 vm.

When we upgrade to V9, we'll be using the VSA to do their backups and client-side dedupe to bring down the amount of data that comes over my small network (most of my remote offices SHARE a single T1 back to their regional hub, so full backups take many weeks to complete).

The backups of the windows servers using a Windows Filesystem iDA has been horrible. The amount of data coming over is 12-15x that of the old Netware version of the server (Netware did great compression).

What I'd like to know is:

Is there a way to 'seed' the new Global Dedupe Database once it gets put into my environment?

Here's what I had in my head for a process:

After a round of corporate office backups (with most of my data) that will populate the DDB with data, before performing the first full backup using VMware snapshots, perform a Synthetic Full of the existing Windows FS iDA. That will populate the DDB and most of that data will hash out when the vmware snapshot is deduped and sent back to my corporate Media Agent.

Does it not happen that way? Will have to wait weeks and months to get my new initial full backups?
