32-bit or 64-bit version of 7.2

Post 32-bit or 64-bit version of 7.2
Hi All

If you have a Solaris 64-bit server (2.Cool running, which NetWorker
version would you opt to install 32 or 64 bit. When I do the upgrade
(NW 6.1.3 to 7.2 64-bit), NetWorker daemons won't come up. Daemon.log
reports "nsrmmdbd exited". Whereas when I tried a 32-bit NetWorker 7.2,
it did work.

Why is it not upgrading to 64-bit NetWorker but does on 32-bit NetWorker
7.2?

Thanks in advance.

Rgds, Ram.

You may be running Solaris in 32-bit mode. To check, run isainfo -vk. If
you're in 64-bit mode the output will resemble:
$ isainfo -v
64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules

Yes, as Conrad said check that Solaris is running in 64bit mode.

That said, for a large environment I highly recommend the 64 bit
build of Networker for Solaris. The 32 bit version has the 1024 open
file limit.
