backing up current directory only, no subdirectories?

Post backing up current directory only, no subdirectories?
Hi,

Anyone have any ideas on how to backup a specific directory, but no
subdirectories? I'm thinking of an asm, but am not sure which would do so.

Thanks,

Dave

You could probably script it on the client. Use a client entry that uses
savepnc and then have the savepnc script on the client generate a
client-side directive file that skips everything you do not want backed up
in the directory in question, then perhaps deletes the directive file is
the post-processing section.

Does this make sense?

Hi Dave,

I think you can achieve it faster with this way than using ASM :

Using your favorite shell, populate a file with full path name
of files you want to save.

Then call save command using -I option like :

from save man page :

-I input_file
In addition to taking the paths to save from the command line,
read
paths to save from the named file. The paths must be listed one
per
line. If no paths are specified on the command line, then only
those
paths specified in the file will be saved.

so, something like :

save -s <server> -b <pool> -q -l <level> -w <browse> ....
... -y <retention> -I <input_file> -N <symbolic name>

I think it should do the work.

Hi,

Anyone have any ideas on how to backup a specific directory, but no

so.

Thanks,
