Yes, it is, but you'll need to modify the Nwinstall script to pass
--nodeps to rpm.

I'm running both clients and the server on Gentoo without any issues.

I am running NetWorker on Gentoo. I used rpm2targz to install the
packages since I don't have or want rpm installed on my systems. The
only issue with this was the startup script, it didn't seem to extract
this. I copied the startup script from a Red Hat system and am calling
it from /etc/conf.d/local.start and local.stop.

I currently have an issue using my DLT7000 drives with an Adaptec 2944UW
card, but I'm not sure that this is particularly a Gentoo issue. My
kernel is 2.6.10. The same hardware works fine when running Red Hat 9.
Working on this issue. Certainly I have no problem running a NetWorker
client with Gentoo.
