Hello List,
this is a connectivity issue between a NW Client (Name: su001, OS: HP-UX =
11, NW 7.1.1) and the NW Server (Name: legato, OS Win2000, NW 7.1).
If I try to backup su001 this fails with a connection timeout. I tried =
to figure out where the problem was. Basically it seems 'su001' cannot =
connect to the NW server 'legato'. Trying a manual backup from 'su001' =
fails because a connection to 'ntlegato' fails.=20
But 'su001' can connect to the nsrexecd service on 'legato':
on 'legato': nsradmin -s su001 -p nsrexec is successful
on 'su001': nsradmin -s legato -p nsrexec is successful
nsradmin -s legato -p nsrd fails with error RPC =
error: Remote System Error - there does not appear to be a nsrd server =
running on legato
(BTW: nsrd service _is_ running on 'legato')
Why is it possible to contact the nsrexec service but not the nsrd =
service? I'd think they use same IP connection.
Is this a network connection issue or more likely NW related?
'su001' has two network interfaces. There is a firewall between the =
servers. The firewall is open for ports 7937, 7938 and 10000-10100; this =
port range is set on 'su001' with nsrports.
I'd appreciate any hint what may be wrong here.=20
Thank you.
Thomas
