Hi Terje
You only need a DDS license if you plan to share a tape drive. Do don't
need a DDS license to connect tape devices to a SAN.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [Networker] Do I need DDS license for one Networker server and
library in a SAN?
Hi experts.
I am going to install a DL380G4 and a MSL5052 with 4 SDLT 320 drives, both
library and server connected to a SAN. Today I have a SCSI connection to
the library and drives and runs Networker v7.1 with Network Edition
License.
My question is, do I need additional licenses on my server when I move the
backup environment to a SAN, e.g. DDS license? I have no immediate plans
for implementing DDS and SAN Storage Nodes since most of my clients are
not conncted to the SAN at the time being.
Best regards
