Enabler code

Post Enabler code
Hi all,

I need a valid enabler code to a test backup server (NetWorker for
Windows, Network Edition/Server).

The one I have in my production backup server I've already used many
times so the evaluation 45 days has expired. I cannot use it anymore.

Can someone send me a valid one?

Tks in advance.

Most likely nobody would give your one.

Instead you should contact your EMC sales rep - they have a bunch of eval licenses they can share.

Used to be the eval license could be extended by a couple weeks by using
"g" as an enabler code, or some similar procedure, if I am remembering
correctly ... the "grace period". But not for a long period ..

"grace" will give you 15 more days. However, you can't apply it any more once the server is disabled.

No quite true. I recall seeing something a while back that allows you to
re-use the license. You need to do the following.

1) make a list of you current license as they will be need later.
2) Stop networker first
3) nsradmin -d "F:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\res\nsrdb"
. type: NSR license
delete
4) start Networker
5) than put back in the license keys.

Of course you may remove the license codes and restart NW. This will work - at least for very old versions (6.x).

To the best of my knowledge, NW also saves at least the base enabler in the media index. And this means that this method will not work for too long (i guess one day).
Yes, you may start all over (deleting the /nsr/res, /nsr/mm & /nsr/index directories) but then you will loose all configuration and backups.

Sorry, But I have to disagree again as I've seen it work all the way up to and including 7.6 releases.
