Post Generate report of Savegroups and pools in Networker 7.6.1
Hi Everyone, I am trying to find a way either thru data plan advisor or thru networker itself to generate a report of all savegroups and their associated pool and to list if it is an incremental or full backup. For example it would list it as
Save group pool Type
group 2year full
group2 6month incr

etc. Both command line and thru the gui is what I am looking for. Smile Thanks.

I would ask Thierry for his Networker reporter tool. It is free to use works
on most platforms. Very nice and has saved me lots of time when I need to
find information like this. He is on this list so he will be able to chime
in.

Hi Vygur:

We use Data Protection Advisor (DPA) to run pretty much all Networker
related reports.
If you have DPA I can show you how to run a report that will give you
that info.
It can be done from Networker as well, but I never done it, since I use
DPA. Easier and nicer.

Thanks for the help Smile I ended up figuring out how to get the information I wanted in networker itself. All I had to do was go to media -> media pools. Then change the columns to display only the name and groups. Then export it to pdf or csv. It was very quick and easy! Though I am sure DPA is easier to use or that networker tool; but for the purpose of what I needed it for worked.
We are installing new datadomain hardware and we want to make sure our naming and documentation is all up to date.
