Hi folks,

Have you any information about whats up with NetWorker this year? I find no
news about any release dates on anything. Is there going to be a new NMM
and a NetWorker 7.7? Have you heard about any new features?

Joe Wallace? I do not recognize your name...

BURA is not one piece anywhere I have been lately, The BURA
Puzzlemasters < at > EMC have been working on a lot of the pieces to our BURA
puzzle.

Maybe Networker 2012 is the year of enhancements with the many other
products, DataDomain, VNX/VMAX, Celerra, the EDLs are aging... DPA is
getting better. I know there is an 8.x Networker beta team lurking
behind curtains out there. But No one that I know of can speak to
specifics.

I know there is an EMC user's group meeting in NYC coming up shortly.
What have YOU heard?

As I already mentioned in another thread here, 7.6 was out on 11/09
which is 27 months ago. And still no word on the new version.

Hello everyone - Over the last several months I've briefed several of your
contemporaries under NDA. (And my thanks to all of you for resisting the
urge to share the good news!)

If you want to know more anout NetWorker in 2012 please contact your local
EMC account team. They can set up an NDA discussion on impending NetWorker
plans. Better yet, EMC World (Las Vegas, May 21-24) will be a great place
to learn everything. I'll look forward to seeing and meeting many of you
there!

Best regards,
Mark

Wallace,

If you happen to be located anywhere near New York City, you are welcome to attend our next EMC BURA Users Group meeting, which is on March 6th. The topic you raised will more than likely be discussed there.

The agenda is still tentative, but it will probably be as follows:

9:00 – 9:15 Welcome

9:15 – 10:15 EMC BRS Vision and Direction, Mike Zolla, EMC

10:15 – 11:15 NetWorker Roadmap, Paul Meighan, EMC

11:15 – Noon NetWorker Logs via the Web, Jim Apgar, Cablevision, Viewing

Noon – 1:00 Lunch

1:00 -2:00 Avamar roadmap, Steve Egan, EMC

2:00 – 2:45 Stan Horwitz, Temple University, Vsphere backups via Avamar

2:45 – 3:15 Using email archiving to address Exchange backup challenges, Luke Foley, EMC

3:15 - 3:45 Panel discussion and feedback for September 2012 meeting

3:45 Adjourn

Anyone with an interest in NetWorker and Avamar is welcome to attend this free meeting, but registration is required.

The meeting will be held on March 6th at EMC's offices at 2 Penn Station, which is just a hop and a skip up from Penn Station.

Those of you who are interested in attending this meeting can register by clicking on the following link:

Also, if any of you have any ideas for presentation topics, please let me know via email to stan < at > temple.edu especially if you are willing to do a presentation.

Stan,

There's no way I can make this meeting, but since we're in the process of
finalizing a (taking-far-too-long) migration from Networker to Avamar, I'm
interested in the Avamar roadmap. Are there any plans to make any of the
meeting's info available via web / email / etc.?

Thanks.

I was thinking the same thing. Assuming there isn't going to be NDA-level
stuff discussed at this, is there any chance of getting the meeting
recorded and uploaded to e.g. YouTube, or at least having the high points
transcribed and sent to the list?

Thanks,

Tim

Unfortunately not, but feel free to arrange a meeting with your local EMC account representative to find out about their Avamar and NetWorker product roadmaps.
