During the last couple days I have found a better way to control index
and bootstrap retention. To use this method, it is assumed you do not
use your default group.
1. In the default group create a client for each index that you wanted
backed up. What is in the saveset field is unimportant as long as you
don't run that group any other time. You can set your rention period to
this client, or you can do it later on.
2. set all your other groups to no index save.
2. As part of your end of day processing run a savegrp -O -l full (add
-e and your expiration period if you wish to set it here.) This will
backup the indexes of each client in the default group, as well as the
bootstrap, and they will all have the retention/expiration period that
you set.
