Inquire Command in Windows 2003

Post Inquire Command in Windows 2003

The problem is with the output of the inquire command when run under
Windows 2003 with StorPort drivers installed for my HBAs. I am running
Qlogic 2340 HBAs. When running the older driver, 8.2.2.25, I can see
the \\.\TapeX device paths in the inquire output, however, not all of my
LUNs show up. When I upgrade to the StorPort based driver version
9.0.1.17 I see all my LUNs, but I cannot see the device paths. I am
getting issues with devices being out of order and without the inquire
output, it is difficult to troubleshoot. Any ideas?

All of my Windows 2000 Storage Nodes show the inquire output like as
follows:

scsidev < at > 8.0.0:SEAGATE ULTRIUM06242-XXX1603|Tape, \\.\Tape0
scsidev < at > 8.0.1:SEAGATE ULTRIUM06242-XXX1603|Tape, \\.\Tape1

I, too, see the problem you describe when using NetWorker V7 on Windows 2003
with Storport drivers.

Hi,

this is a known problem with V7.1.x.

This should be fixed in V7.1.3 (avail.)
and has been fixed for me with V7.2 on W2003 storage nodes.
