Unfortunately it's not a dns issue, I can do a lookup to both sides and the secondary interface which we use (private IP) is in /etc/hosts on both server and clients.

Any one else??

Regards,

Rick

Rick,

Sounds like a DNS issue.

Ensure that you can do a successful nslookup, both forward and reverse, of the client from the server.

All,

I can't get legato module for oracle to work properly.

Solaris 8
Oracle 8.1.7.4 (32bits)
LGTnmo 4.1
Legato networker 7.1 (EBS 7.1)

We get the following error:

ORA-19511: nwora_open_backup: The NW authentication for client 'alpha' was refused by server 'bravo-ce1' because 'Unknown host'.

Is there anybody who can help me with this?

Regards

Hi Rick,

Could it be an alias/naming problem? Is 'alpha' listed as an alias for
alpha.whatever.yourdomain.is on the NetWorker server?

Can you perform regular backups of the client 'alpha' without the oracle
module?

Regards,

-gordon

Can you "rpcinfo -p alpha" from bravo-ce1?
