Yes, NetWorker support did the "regasm" thing for us and that cleared up the problem although it took a couple of tries before the problem cleared up completely.

Subject: SV: [Networker] NMM-VSS problem
Hi Everyone,
We had a case opened with EMC for to month with the exact problem as yours and using Esg124052 from Powerlink to create the Exchange clients doesn´t help. The problem was solved finally by
-Install a new NMM 2.3 build 93 module from EMC
-Start CMD and go the "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727"
-Run regasm "C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\bin\libnmexchmgmt.dll"
After this we have no more problem making backup of our Exchange 2010 servers.
These steps are also mentioned in
https://community.emc.com/message/539996#539996
The only problem we have left is to restore a single item using NMM and this is still a open case to be investigating.
Sincerely, Yours

Thanks, that helped, but it only changed the error. The backups still fail. The new message is: " DAG name entered for client not in a DAG. Cannot continue.". I looked it up on Powerlink and the suggestions don't appear to be particularly helpful. Still plugging away.

Hi Dave
You should be able to run the setup tool. It's a binary installed in
networker bin folder (can't remember the name).
This tool sets up the service. So you can also change the account that the
service runs under in the services MMC.

Sorry to reply to my own message but I think I've found something that may
be relevant. When I installed the NMM and set up the Exchange backup we got
to the point where it needed a username/password. I used my own personal
username/password and because of a 90 day forced password change on our
system the backup apparently failed because I changed my password last
Friday. So if someone has a quick pointer on how to update the password in
NMM it would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll eventually figure it out on my
own. Then I'll work on getting a more permanent username for this purpose.
Thanks,

This is not exactly a NetWorker problem but perhaps someone out there can
give me some advice. Our Exchange backups with NMM are failing with the
message: "ERROR:Unable to get the writer metadata for Microsoft Exchange
Writer" and "Failed to initialize the Writer Metadata -- error 0x8007139f.
Backup cannot continue." Does anyone have any advice on fixing this short
of rebooting the system?
