recommendations sought for backing up Hyperion Essbase dbs
Thanks. Sorry, forgot to mention that my Essbase server is running Solaris
8, so OFM won't help me.

Essbase db's
You have to use OFM so you can get the .ind and .pag files, without
these Essbase will not run. The Legato client will not see these files
even if Essbase is in 'archive' mode. The only script I know of running
on our Essbase server is to run the calcs for accounting at night.

Subject: [Networker] recommendations sought for backing up Hyperion
Essbase db's
All,
According to Hyperion's docs there are two ways to accomplish backups of
an
Essbase database: placing the db in 'archive' mode, or exporting it.
Wondering if anybody else has found particular success (or problems)
with
either of these methods. We have recently upgraded to Essbase 7.1
(using
NetWorker 7.1 for the actual backup process) but our contractor quit
before
setting up the backup scripts.
TIA
