Hi,
Is it possible to recover data that was backed up on a Solaris 5.8
machine to a Linux (Redhat 9) machine, using Networker 6.1.3?
We have an oracle database that is housed on a Solaris 5.8 machine, and
we need to recover it, but we don't have the disk space (we need to keep
the database up while recovering an older copy), so we want to restore
it to some available disk on a Linux machine and then just NFS mount the
disk over to the Solaris machine. I've added the linux machine's
hostname to the "remote access" list of the Solaris box (I've actually
done quite a few restores to different boxes, but I don't think I've
ever done it to a different platform).
I tried the recover once and got this error for each of the 8 savesets I
am trying to recover:
12/16/04 11:32:17 nsrmmd #2: unexpected recover session error for
homer:/u01 (12/11/04)
I'm now trying to restore the database to the Solaris box itself,
relocating the data to the NFS-mounted disk.
