Scanning & cloning?

Post Scanning & cloning?
Hi!

Old-server:
Quantum / ATL M1800 Tape Library
Solaris 8
Legato 7.2

New-server:
Solaris 10
NetWorker Management Console version 3.4.Build.187
based on NetWorker version 7.4.Build.187

I am trying to scan M1800 tapes to SL500 LTO4 tapes (to a clone pool).
The M1800 is set up as a storage node of the SL500.

I run the command:
/usr/sbin/nsr/scanner -s backupSL500 -i rd=backup:/dev/rmt/1cbn

on the server the M1800 is connected to.

This appears to scan OK but a question - where does the scanned data go?
Where is it stored?

I am then trying to clone what I believe is a complete saveset from the
scan on the server the SL500 is connected to which doesn't work(!):

/usr/sbin/nsr/nsrclone -s backup-M1800 -b "SL500 Offsite" -S 499324566

From daemon.raw:

0 1322128066 2 0 0 1 1326 0 backup2 (pid1326) 2 %s 1 0 18 bad first fragment
8628 1322128066 2 0 0 1 1326 0 backup2 (pid1326) 16 Nothing to clone 0
39078 1322128066 0 0 2 308271 682 0 backup2 nsrexecd 14 %s error: %s%s 3
0 3 RPC 49 39 0 2 %s 1 11 24 347:Authentication error 0 0

Again - where is the data for the scanned saveset 499324566 stored?
Using mminfo is there a way to find out the details for saveset
499324566? Anyway to fix this and clone the saveset?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Scanner will retrieve the metadata for the media index (-m) plus for the file index (-i).
It will not read any data unless you pipe that through a recover process with (-x).

Of course scanning an cloning only works on the SAME data zone - you must use the SAME server for scanning AND cloning. Otherwise, the cloning server does not know about the source volume.
