Swapping out NICs on Server and Storage Node
Author Message
Post Swapping out NICs on Server and Storage Node
Greetings,=20

I intend to swap on the 4x100BT NIC interfaces on both my backup server
and storage node with Gigabit NIC interfaces. =20

I didn't see anything on the knowledgebase about this and was wondering
if there are any gotchas in changing the NICs?

Thanks,=20

Paul,

On your Storage Node there will be no influence (I am assuming IP, =
subnet and DNS stays the same).

However, on your Backup Server 10 to 1 your Hostid will change (due to =
different MAC) so it is pretty likely you will have to do a host =
transfer (meaning affidavit and new auth codes).

Riaan
