A Fun test I dide with dsmadmc and iPhone

Post A Fun test I dide with dsmadmc and iPhone
Hi Everyone,
Like everyone else has iPhone now finally come out in Sweden and of course did I get one. *big smile*
First thing I installed was a Bash shell on my iPhone and a SSH client so I can SSH to my Linux Machine and from there can I control my TSM Servers via dsmadmc.
But I was just thinking has anyone try to get the DSMADMC installed direct on there iPhone before?

It is a compact version of FreeBSD in the phone, but I was thinking it shouldn't be any major problem to get the dsmadmc working on the iPhone, but if someone already have try to get it to work. Then please let me know what you did and how the result was?

For the people that only use the ISC console. I don't know if iPhone is works fine with the ISC.
But iPhone firmware 2.0 has full Java support so it should work fine without any issues.

If you run dsmadmc via a SSH console and iPhone it works fine but you will have some formation problem with the screen but it works great to just create a node, fix a small issue and check out/in some tapes.

I have an ssh client installed on my Blackberry and can run dsmadmc sessions. The font in awfully small but it is workable.

Hi,
Do you mean the old Admin GUI? That should work fine including the command line.
But ISC shouldn't be any issues with as it looks today.

Hi Christian,

that would be the webgui, quite useless in 2-3 years time, no, something
native and lightweight.

But ISC shouldn't be any issues with as it looks today.

I have a very strong opinion on the ISC, but I don't want to be too
unkind towards the IBM folks...

Yes, Sorry that's what I was referring to also the Admin Gui on the
iphone. I know it would be small and not easy to view but is it possible?
