I was wondering if anyone could tell me is this application is on Oracle, Microsoft SQL, some other DB or possibly all of the above.
Thank You

I've been told it's none of the above. All (1) Teradata installations that I know of have a dedicated tape library.
Thank You

 Application called Teradata
We had some meetings a long time ago about acquiring one (which we
didn't). At that time it was a specialized database appliance. I seem to
remember a discussion that it did have a TSM API interface client of some
kind.

 Application called Teradata
Geoff
Teradata is a non-relational database technology that runs on its own
dedicated and optimised hardware.
One of my customers has it and was backing up to the mainframe tape
drives some how. They wanted to install the TSM interface, which is
called TARA. (Teradata Archive/Restore API I think).
It was kludgy but I did get it to work as far as backing up one table.
The customer had decided the TARA server was to be Windows rather than
Linux. I could not get the scheduling side of the product to work, and
the local Teradata expert was not a lot of help. In fact it looked like
they had given the linux product to the work-experience kid to convert
to windows as a summer project. Seriously, one of the windows batch
files had chmod statements in it!
For that reason I recommended against proceeding further. The product
clearly was not ready for production use. That was a year ago, and
things may have improved. If you go that way, I'd suggest linux rather
than windows.

Steve

Hi,
Please post an email to "repostor" if you need Teradata protected by IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM).
They might consider to create a solution if they find it attractive enough to spend time on
