Post BA STGP question
Now for a question on the gory details of BA STGP processing:

Specifically, if the source storagepool is updated during BA STGP processing, does the new data get backed up, or is it more of a "snap" process, where only data that was in the pool at the start of BA STGP get copied to the target pool? Or maybe, something in between.

I guess I could do an experiment, but thought I'd check here first to see if anyone had already done so....

Hello Steve,
According to my experience with TSM versions before 6.X "BA STGPOOL" backups all new data coming during backup data.
Unfortunately I couldn't prove this by links to documentation. Take this information as it is.

Based upon my observations, Backup Stgpool compiles a list of files in a preliminary step, and then operates upon that static list during the operation. I recently performed a Backup Stgpool which took three days to run. Thereafter, I started another one, and it then went to work on data which arrived in the storage pool on the second day.

Thanks to all who responded. Maybe I'll add another "catch-up" BA STGP like Norman Gee.
