Post DataDomain - vTape stuck on vDrive. Cant move it ?
Hi All,

Sorry for the long debug....

I wonder if anyone had this issue with TSM: 6.2.3.100 and DD890: OS 5.1.0.5-269447

1) TSM Server's happily writing to a vTape

2) At the same time, the VTL pool replication pair is setup on DD console, causing this series of error messages on TSM server:

2012-07-06 10:37:01.000000,8337,I,ANR8337I LTO volume 440090 mounted in drive DRV1 (/dev/rmt/r44d1st). (PROCESS: 838),SERVER,,,,,,,,838,8973

3) We then try audit libr but the volume remains mounted on dd.

4) We try to delete path and drive + define drive and path but, this time, TSM doesn't recognize the drive as being LTO and defines it as "generic".

5) Finally, we try a physical (virtual) move of the tape at the DD console, but:

costaju < at > angelina# vtl tape show r44 barcode 440090L3
Processing tapes....
Barcode Pool Location State Size Used (%) Comp ModTime
-------- ---- ----------- ----- ------- ------------------ ---- -------------------
440090L3 r44 r44 drive 1 RW 400 GiB 129.5 GiB (32.37%) 12x 2012/07/06 11:48:58
-------- ---- ----------- ----- ------- ------------------ ---- -------------------

costaju < at > angelina# vtl tape move r44 source drive 1 destination slot 91

No vtc_private available

So, anyone knows how to solve this ?

Thanks in advance,
Justino Costa
