Thanks

Post TOC backups set question
OK.. I can check the Contents of a backup set using this>>>>Query backupsetcontents bovsrv2 BOVSRV2FS10.720352626

Problem is there are a lot of file/directories Does anyone know of a way to find a specific directory?

Specifically if I wanted to find the following

d:\BOVSrv2\Shared\OCRgroup\Stacey Dolby\

Thanks

I would just create a TOC to do anything granular like that:
look at "GENERATE BACKUPSETTOC"

Shawn

Shawn,

Yes, I guess I will have to do that I was hoping to avoid that, I am not sure how much that will affect our database.

Thanks

TOCs aren't stored in the database. You will need storagepool space to
store the TOC. This is the pool that "TOCDESTINATION" points to in the
copygroup.
The database temp space is only used when you are performing queries
against that data. (it copies the data temporarily from the TOC storage
pool)
It will sit in the database temporarily until the "SET TOCLOADRETENTION"
period expires.

You can always delete all of this afterwards.

Shawn

Post TOC backups set question
Thanks Shawn,

I will have to see about the storepool that may not be a issue not sure. We do have other backup sets (NOVELL) only about 3 or 4 that runs weekly. We don't use TOC for them either, I don't even think there was a GENERATE BACKUPSETTOC command yet when we started those.

When the Novell Admin needs a file (s) he just restore them, I am thinking if I can get the syntax correct for restoring a folder I could have the client try it and see if the file restores. I know with the Novell backupset restores it took us several tries to get the syntax correct. In addition when we got the correct syntax
we had to change it at times for it to work again.

Here is what I have so far

dsmc restore backupset d:\BOVSrv3\Shared\OCRgroup\Stacey Colby\ Turpentine Elements (Turpentine Elements is the missing folder)

or can this be done? dsmc restore backupset d:\BOVSrv3\Shared\OCRgroup\Stacey Colby\ -subdir-yes

regards
