Try to rsync the complete rdiff repository to another place so you have a backup ... then you can safely try Smile

I am still wondering why there is no valuable information shown even in the verbose modes ...

Rename the destination folder at the drive itself or in the script,
should also work right?

Seems to work.

Do you prevent a shutdown or reboot when rdiff-backup is running? How?
