Backup Central

I have rdiff-backup installed working backing up a from one machine to another. However I must do it manually. I want to cron this so it happens automatically. I think I have the scheduling part w/ cron figured out. How do I script rdiff so that it will login to the remote machine with out pausing to ask for a password.

Read up on ssh keys, which will let you log in from one system to
another without logging in with a password. The readers digest version
goes something like this:
- run 'ssh-genkeys -t dsa', set up keys without passwords
- add your .ssh/id_dsa.pub contents to the .ssh/authorized_keys file on
the remote server
- you can now run 'ssh user < at > remotehost' and login without a password
- rdiff-backup won't prompt you anymore

Use the ssh keys to provide the password less login.

I have all the great advice and the helpful websites and I am working on it.
I need to get some billable work done and will be back at it again this
afternoon.
One question, in the artic.org unattended.html they use "mirror" and
"primary" as the computer names, I am assuming that I need to substitute the
actual computer names or should I use the IPs?

substitute actual names.

you can name things whatever you want in your .ssh/config "Host foo"
line... it doesn't have to exist -- it just becomes a macro for use in ssh
commands... that's why i place a "Host primary-backup" line in there,
primary-backup doesn't exist as a dns name, but primary does (and hence
the "hostname primary" line in the config example).
