Post error 107
Hi, I'm new to the list and I tried searching the archive for this
problem, but the search utility didn't seem to work. I tried scanning
through the archive a bit, too, but didn't see anything. Sorry if it is
a well covered topic. I've been trying to get rdiff-backup-0.13.4
working for some extremely large files (25 to 100Gig) backing up from
Windows 2000 with latest cygwin to a Linux machine, running the command
from the Linux machine. The first backup goes fine, but when running a
second time on any files that have changed, I keep getting a librsync
error 107. I read the librsync.h file and it has a comment for error
107 as RS_INTERNAL_ERROR = 107, /**< Probably a library bug. */. I
compiled both librsync and rdiff-backup myself on cygwin. I also
noticed that there is no longer a --windows-mode option in 0.13.4, or at
least it didn't work for me. Is there some other option that replicates
this behaviour? Another thing is that these backups take an extremely
long time, 20+ hours. Does that seem right?

Upgrade librsync to 0.9.7
There is a documented problem with large files over 2Gigs in size with versions earlier than this.

I should have mentioned I'm running on 0.9.7 of librsync. Smile
Another thing I should clarify. The second run of these backups takes
forever. I could see the first run taking a long time since it's
copying huge amounts of data, but I thought since it's only going to be
sending differences (or maybe that's what's wrong here) it should be
much faster. In fact, it took less time to do the initial backup than
it did for the second one. I started another backup yesterday morning
to see how long it takes, and it's not done now 26 hours later. Here is
what I'm getting:

python: ERROR: (rs_job_iter) internal error: job made no progress
[orig_in=129238, orig_out=65536, final_in=129238, final_out=65536]
UpdateError TWDOCS2001.adm librsync error 107 while in patch cycle

(Sorry, I sent this directly back to you. Thought a reply would go back
to the list.)
