Which to choose if I onnly want complete directories to backup like

/etc
/usr/local
/var/www

etc. etc.

Also, what is the point of having exclude and include filelist options
when you can specify +/- inside each?

Surely there should be just one --filelist option?

Again, I have probably miss read something :-)

Lastly,

How would this command be incorporated? Would it be:

rdiff-backup --include-filelist backup-list user < at > host::/ my-local-dir

This then backups up the remote dirs in the list to the local dir of my
choosing.
